Town of Julesburg is pleased to announce that we are now able to take payments online. By working with the Colorado Statewide Internet Portal Authority (SIPA) on their secured platform, you can click on the link below to make your payment with a credit card or e-check. Credit cards accepted are American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa. A portal administration fee for credit card payments or electronic check payments will be charged and retained by the Portal, not Town of Julesburg.
A convenience fee of $1 will be charged for payments made using an electronic check regardless of the transaction amount.
The convenience fee for credit cards are as follows: the amount of the (payment + $.75 x 2.25%) + $.75 (example for a payment of $10.00): ($10 + $.75) x 2.25% = $10.75 x 2.25% = $.24 + $.75=$.99. Your card would be charged $10.99 for the transaction.
Please make sure you use the link below and that you are on the Colorado Website when processing your payment. A successful transaction will give you a receipt and an order id number.
The Town of Julesburg provides three utilities, electric, water and sewer and owns and operates their own sanitation service. The Town bills approximately 850 customers each month.
The Town employs 11 full-time employees including a Town Manager, Town Clerk, Assistant Town Clerk, 2 Electricians, 1 Water Supervisor, 1 Wastewater Supervisor, 1 Sanitation Worker, 1 Parks Supervisor, 1 Street Supervisor, and 1 Librarian.
ELECTRICITY – The Town of Julesburg owns and operates its own electrical distribution system. Additional sources of electricity are purchased through Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska (MEAN) and the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA). Julesburg’s power plant is used for emergency and stand-by needs. The Town’s 2023 peak demand was 3,123 Kw. WATER SERVICE – The Town of Julesburg owns and operates its own water system. The city has three wells, which pump at a rate of 1200 gpm. In the spring of 2001, the Town put on line a Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment plant. The Town is in process of having a deep well injection system designed to handle the Reverse Osmosis brine, and provide an efficient solution to continue to comply with State mandates. WASTEWATER SERVICE – The Town of Julesburg owns and operates its own wastewater system. In March 2003, the Town converted their three cell aerated lagoon system to a Aero-Mod mechanical plant. SANITATION – The Town of Julesburg operates its own sanitation services. The town provides weekly service for their residents. Commercial services are provided, as needed, all receive weekly services while other commercial accounts receive three to four times a week as arranged. Trash bins must be out by 7:30 am on your designated day. Place trash bin opening facing the alley or street side and allow a trash cart width (2 to 3 feet) between each trash bin. Monthly collection fee includes service for two trash carts, additional trash carts will be billed accordingly. Please remember to fill a trash bin before using a second one. Please do not put construction materials or hazardous materials in the bins, we will not pick them up. NATURAL GAS – Natural Gas service is distributed to the community by Black Hills Energy. Natural gas is available for both residential and commercial customers. For current gas prices you can call Black Hills Energy at 1-888-890-5554.
