UTILITIES
The Town of Julesburg provides three utilities, electric, water and sewer and owns and operates their own sanitation service. The Town bills approximately 800 customers each month.
The Town employs 12 full-time employees including a Town Manager, Town Clerk, Assistant Town Clerk, 2 Electricians, 1 Water Supervisor, 1 Wastewater Supervisor, 2 Sanitaion Workers, 1 Parks Supervisor, 1 Street Supervisor, and 1 Librarian.
ELECTRICITY - The Town of Julesburg owns and operates its own electrical distribution system. Additional sources of electricity are purchased through Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska (MEAN) and the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA). Julesburg’s power plant is used for emergency and stand-by needs. The town’s 2010 peak demand was 3,002Kw. WATER SERVICE - The Town of Julesburg owns and operates its own water system. The city has three wells, which pump at a rate of 1200gpm. In the spring of 2001 the Town put on line

WASTEWATER SERVICE - The Town of Julesburg owns and operates its own wastewater system. In March 2003 the Town converted their three cell aerated lagoon system to a Aero-Mod mechanical plant. SANITATION - The Town of Julesburg operates its own sanitation services. The town provides biweekly service during the summer months and weekly service during the winter months, for their residents. Commercial services are provided, as needed, all receive biweekly services others three to four times a week, if needed.
